Keep mocking your readers, Mr. Kurtz. It's a really excellent idea.

Note: PvP is probably my least favorite webcomic that I'm capable of tolerating. I read it in extremis. It's the only webcomic I read with any regularity for which I have never once been tempted to purchase anything, ever, at all.

I dropped PvP a few weeks back, after I realized that it had been a long time since it had made me so much as crack a smile.

Yeah, I keep planning to drop it myself, for the same reason. Habit keeps me going.

I used to think it was hysterical, though -- and I know BSD hated it years ago. Why keep punishing yerself, dude?

It got better again, and it's not completely unreadable -- I crack a smile once in a while, still.

But he's the only webcomic I can think of who reliably makes meanspirited jokes about geeks, his readers, and people for being ugly.

I actually like PvP quite a lot; and I suspect that most of his readers don't mind it when he mocks the ones who get a little to involved (or ranty) with his comic.

If you don't like it, stop reading it. I dropped Megatokyo when it stopped amusing me and Sluggy Freelance when reading it felt like work. To each their own.

Pretty much. I've enjoyed various PvP storylines, but Kurtz is enough of an asshole (and a hack, of course; his need to respond to people commenting on this in his comic is...fascinating) that the bads are starting to way outweigh the good.

Compare to, say, Sluggy -- sure, Pete Abrams is -also- a hack, and has a lot of unfunny strips as well as funny ones. But he never goes to the...depths, I guess...that Kurtz does.
