Sad thing is, you look back in time forty years, and he, politically, wasn't a monster -- he was anti-Communist, but he was anti-McCarthy, on the right side of the Civil Rights movement, and was in favor of gun control (!!!). Not even twenty years later, he's appearing at conferences and working with the very people he opposed while working for civil rights. What happened to him?
